North American Tape recently tested our Comp-o-stik tape against the leading brand of hockey tape to demonstrate how durable Comp-o-stik is. The testing was performed in a controlled situation. We had a highly-skilled hockey player prepare two identical hockey sticks and tape one with Comp-o-stik and the other with a roll of the leading brand purchased in a retail store. The player then began taking slap shots in groups of 10 shots on each stick so that any changes in the condition of the tape could be checked. In the group of shots from 51 - 60 the leading brand suffered a significant failure with a large area of tape that tore completely off the stick. The Comp-o-stik taped stick is still game ready.
...and by the way we had him take another 40 shots on the Comp-o-stik taped stick to see if he could make it fail too.
It didn't.
